How Do Online Guitar Lessons Work
How Do Online Guitar Lessons Work Suzy S. Thinking about taking online guitar lessons? Read on as online teacher Justine D. explains what type of student excels best with online lessons, what to expect, and more: If you live in a rural area, play a difficult-to-find instrument, or are interested in playing a specific musical style, it may be hard to find a teacher in your area that fits your goals. Fortunately, the advent of the Internet and video-chatting technology have brought new ways for teachers and students to connect! Iâve been teaching online guitar lessons for two years and have worked with students of all ages and all learning levels. Many of my beginning students are a little hesitant about online lessons, but once they know what to expect it becomes easier! Why should you consider online guitar lessons? Learn in the comfort of your home. You wonât need to travel to your teacherâs studio! This saves you money on gas or transportation. Take lessons anywhere. All you need is an Internet-connected device and your guitar. If you want to continue your lessons while on vacation, you can! Theyâre affordable. Online guitar lessons are often slightly cheaper than in-person lessons. This is primarily because you will not be able to receive physical feedback or adjustments during your lessons. Are online lessons right for me? Online guitar lessons are great for students who can follow directions well and are independent. You should also feel comfortable making small changes in your hands and body and know your lefts from your rights. This is especially important if you are just getting started out with guitar chords. Your teacher may need to give you specific directions about how to adjust how youâre holding your guitar. Learning online also makes you dependent on your computer, tablet, and connection. Most video-chat issues, like lagging or freezing, are easily fixed by restarting the call, but if your connection is too slow it can hamper your musical progress. How do online guitar lessons work? Any video-chatting software will work for online guitar lessons, but most teachers will use Skype or Google Hangouts. Both of these programs let you video-chat from a computer, smartphone, or tablet and are free to use. Talk to your teacher to find out more about what he or she recommends. After youâve connected on your video-chatting software, youâll see a big video of your teacher and a smaller one of yourself. Take a moment to look at the video youâre sending to make sure that both your left and right hand are in view! Itâs important to have your guitar neck and where youâre strumming in the picture so your teacher can observe your playing. If you know how to tune your guitar, feel free to do so before your lesson! If tuning is new to you, though, donât worry: you can always ask your teacher to help you tune your guitar, just like an in-person lesson. The exact format of your online guitar lesson will vary based on your teacher and your musical goals, but rest assured that you and your teacher will still be able to hear and see each other! I often play with my student at the same time, though I sometimes do ask students to play by themselves so I can really focus on what theyâre playing. Despite the physical distance, you and your teacher will still be able to look at the same music, chords, or other materials thanks to screensharing. Both Skype and Google Hangouts have this feature! I like to open music on my computer and share it with my student so I can use my mouse to indicate what weâre focusing on. To get your learning materials and songs, your teacher will either email you files or links or recommend books or sheet music for you to purchase. Some of my students like to print out their materials, while others open their files on the computer and practice in front of their screen. Itâs up to you! Conclusion Online guitar lessons are an affordable and convenient way to become a better guitar player! As long as your teacher can hear and see you well, the skyâs the limit. Youâll still be able to review music, tabulature, and chord progressions, get feedback on your guitar technique, and play duets together. Just make sure to pay close attention to what your teacher has to say, especially if he or she is giving specific directions. Itâs up to you to listen and make the right adjustments to how youâre holding or playing your instrument. Good luck with your guitar playing! Will the LSAT Become Optional for Some Students
Will the LSAT Become Optional for Some Students If you plan to practice law one day, you are probably very familiar with the LSAT, which is administered to students who are seeking admission to law school. The LSAT is well known for being difficult and stressful, so students are often advised to begin studying several months before their test date. The LSATis, in short, an unavoidable challenge. But change may soon be in the works. Recently, the American Bar Association announced that it would allow law schools to admit up to 10% of their incoming classes without an LSAT score. This means that some students may be accepted based solely on their admissions essays, GPAs, recommendation letters, and other aspects of their application packages. This change is a positive one for students who struggle with test anxiety, as well as for students who cannot demonstrate their full potential on the LSAT alone. But perhaps youre wondering why the American Bar Association has altered its policy. Why is the LSAT now optional for some students? Decreasing enrollment In recent years, a decreasing number of students have applied to and enrolled in law school. Increasing the flexibility of law school admissions processes (i.e. making the LSAT optional) may help to encourage a greater number of students to apply to these programs. Still, at least 90% of students will continue to be admitted to law school on the basis of their LSAT scores. (Remember that the revision permits up to 10% of admitted students to omit the LSAT not 10% exactly.) At this point, law schools can choose whether or not they will admit students without first reviewing their LSAT results, and some schools will likely decide to leave their application process unchanged. LSAT advantages Though the LSAT is admittedly challenging, there are a number of reasons to take it anyway. For example, independent scholarships sometimes rely on this test score when awarding financial aid. If you find yourself struggling in your LSAT prep, you may consider seekingan LSAT tutor. An LSAT score will also allow you to pursue admission at any program that interests you, while students who do not complete the exam will be limited to only those schools that choose to admit 10% of their class without it. Most importantly, prospective students who opt against the LSAT may face increased competition for only a few spots. This may be able to help you grasp how the LSAT is scored. In addition, studying for the LSATcan help to prepare you for the academic realities of law school. For instance, sitting for the LSAT can allow you to demonstrate to your prospective schools that you are prepared to work hard to achieve your educational goals even in the face of an intense challenge. LSAT prep can also enable you to hone your analytical and logical thinking skills, as well as your close reading abilities. These free LSAT prep toolscan help you in your studies. Perhaps we are beginning to move toward new law school admissions practices, including a fully optional LSAT. Perhaps not. Ultimately, it is a wise idea to prepare for any admissions exam that you may face. And before you count on a school allowing you to apply LSAT-free, be sure to double-check the programs specific admissions procedures.

What Value can Social Media Knowledge Have for Children
What Value can Social Media Knowledge Have for Children There are 3.5 billion social media users worldwide, according to THE GLOBAL DIGITAL REPORT 2019, indicating the extent to which social media has infiltrated every area of life - from social interaction to shopping, and even learning. In the same way that consumers are turning to influencers to make purchasing decisions, they are also turning to other social media users for learning purposes. LinkedIn, for instance, is an excellent source of industry-specific reports and information, and virtually all social media channels - including Facebook and Twitter - can be used to share links to blogs, vlogs, and other sources of information. For many educators (not only THOSE SPECIALISING IN IT), social media is a worthy subject worthy of inclusion both as a core subject and as one meritorious of private tutoring classes. These are just a few reasons why social media (and social media marketing) can help both school-aged kids and adults achieve key goals regardless of their area of specialisa tion. Social Media Offers Valuable Learning Tools Learning has become more collaborative than ever, with the Internet of things breaking geographical and other barriers. Specific sites such as Wikispaces Classroom, for instance, permit students to work together in private social networks, and to access vital information and communication tools. Other sites that students and teachers can use to work together include Blackboard, Edmodo, and of course, Skype - which can be used to contact educators and anyone doing something interesting that students can learn from. Social Media Marketing can Help Students Achieve Future Business Success Whether students end up becoming entrepreneurs, publishers, or artists, their chances of business success will, to a great degree, depend on their ability to leverage the power of their social media channels. These days, business success doesn't solely depend on putting out a good product or offering top service. It also depends on a businesses' ability to obtain A HEALTHY FOLLOWING ON YOUTUBE, Instagram, and other popular channels. In this day and age, entrepreneurs and their marketing teams need to be savvy about a plethora of SUBJECTS SUCH AS INFLUENCER MARKETING, savvy content creation, and dealing with feedback/customer complaints on social media. Social Media can be a Weapon Students can benefit greatly from learning how to use social media to full avail while STAYING SAFE FROM HACKERS, scammers, and of course, cyberbullies. Learning social media etiquette and safety can benefit students in another way: by teaching them about the permanence of the written word. As reported by Wired's Paris Martineau, over five million people have relied on services like TweetDelete or Tweet Archive Eraser to erase posts that could potentially paint them in a poor light. However, one part of their activity remains forever: their 'likes'. It is vital for users to learn the ins and outs of different social media - which allow them to erase messages, for instance, and which archive information and potentially provide information to third parties. Given the fact that social media is here to stay and is only set to grow to even more epic proportions, it is logical that its correct use should be part and parcel of students' education. Savvy social media use can help students market their businesses in the future, but also protect them and their family from those who seek to use their private information for profit OR FOR ILLICIT PURPOSES. Social media is also a vital learning tool, and with so many sites and apps dedicated to this purpose, classes and tutorials can opening many avenues that students may find hard to negotiate on their own.
